Do we need to install any software to use SmartTrack?
No, it is a web-based application. You only need Internet access.
Can we open SmartTrack and view our vehicles on our hand-held smartphones?
Yes, you can access SmartTrack and view your vehicles from your mobile phone as long as you have internet service. The SmartTrack app is available for both IOS and Android users.
Is there a monthly service charge?
Yes, there is a monthly service charge for using the software.
Is the SIM card (data charges) included in the monthly service charges?
Yes, all operating costs and charges (including the SIM data) is included as part of the fixed monthly charges.
Is there a service charge for installing the tracking device?
Yes, a separate service charge is applied upon installation of the tracking device.
Can we request any changes to the SmartTrack application, and does it cost extra?
SmartTrack application is built in-house by STS. We can make changes and customizations based on customer requests subject to technical feasibility. Additional charges may apply depending on the scale of the customization.
What type/source of map data is used by SmartTrack?
SmartTrack uses STS map data which is produced and updated in-house by STS map specialists. This data contains road speed attributes and building address points (not found in standard Google maps used by other competitors). We also use Google map data as a secondary source.
Can we identify and locate our customer business or building address on the map with the vehicle?
Yes, our unique map data will allow you to search for and identify the location of any building address on the map and to track the vehicle going to the address.
Can we identify which driver was driving which car?
Yes, we can install an optional driver ID system (with a unique driver tag for each driver) which will allow you to identify each driver who used the car. This can be done with, or without a car relay/immobilizer (the car will not start without it).
Can we integrate SmartTrack with our Oracle or other Databases?
Yes, in most cases we can integrate through web services.
Do you provide training?
Yes, we provide full on-site training and after-sales support.
How long does it take to install the SmartTrack device on the vehicle?
It takes between 15 to 40 minutes depending on vehicle type. Installation of additional accessories will need a longer time.
